‘Michael’ Biopic Teaser Trailer Breaks Records

The first teaser trailer for “Michael,” the forthcoming biopic about Michael Jackson, crushed records the moment it appeared. The teaser drew more than 30 million views in its first six hours online and surged past 116.2 million within 24 hours, making it the most-viewed music biopic or concert trailer of all time. That figure not only surpasses “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” which reached 96.1 million views in its first day, but also marks the largest 24-hour trailer launch in Lionsgate’s history.

The film follows Michael’s journey from child star in the Jackson 5 to global icon. It stars his nephew Jaafar Jackson in the title role and includes recreations of defining career moments such as the “Thriller” era. Lionsgate has leaned into nostalgia and spectacle, showcasing glimpses of Michael’s signature choreography, iconic looks, and stage presence. The teaser also hints that the story will conclude during the Bad era of the late 1980s.

The record-breaking trailer underscores the enormous anticipation surrounding the film, set for release in April 2026. “Michael” promises to deliver an honest yet spectacular portrait of the man behind the music. With this record-breaking debut, the film has already made history…even before audiences step into theaters!
