Say Say Say Released in 4K

The short film for “Say Say Say,” the chart-topping duet by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson, has been released in 4K, giving the beloved 1983 production a striking visual upgrade. Now available through McCartney’s official YouTube channel, the remastered version allows a new generation to experience one of pop music’s most memorable collaborations with sharper detail and richer color.

Directed by Bob Giraldi, the video casts Michael and Paul as “Mac and Jack,” a pair of traveling confidence men who sell a questionable miracle potion before revealing their talents as entertainers. Its playful, cinematic storyline unfolds across dusty rural settings, vaudeville stages and energetic dance sequences. Linda McCartney and Micahel’s sister La Toya also appear.

The 4K presentation brings fresh clarity to the period costumes, expressive performances and carefully staged comedy that helped make the original short film so memorable. More than four decades after its debut, the video still feels more like a miniature musical rather than a conventional music video.

Released as a single from McCartney’s album Pipes of Peace, “Say Say Say” became the pair’s biggest joint success. Produced by George Martin, the song spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
