After previews late last year, last night the Broadway show ‘MJ’ opened its doors and raised its curtains. On its opening night it had multiple standing ovations and cheering throughout the show.
The show covers Michael’s life from the Jackson 5 through the 1992 rehearsals for his ‘Dangerous’ World Tour. Director Christopher Wheeldon and dramatist Lynn Nottage created the entertaining piece of theater that shows Michael was human, and not invincible to problems, but concentrates on the music.
The cast is led by Myles Frost who sings out classics like ‘Bad,’ ‘Beat It,’ ‘Billie Jean’ and more. In total there are over 30 songs performed (some shorter than others), leading up to the finale ‘Man in the Mirror.’
Among those in attendee for the opening night were Michael’s three children Prince, Paris and Bigi (formally known as Blanket), actor Samuel Jackson and friend and director Kenny Ortega.
