Cleo Higgins Joins ‘Thriller Live’

‘Thriller Live’ celebrates Michael’s inspirational, solo career and where it all began at Motown with the Jackson 5 and The Jacksons!

The show has sold more than 2,500,000 tickets worldwide and, in its fifth year in the West End, has become the longest-running production in the Lyric Theatre’s 125-year history.

The show is touring the UK and will be at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre from October 14 – 19, with Cleo Higgins playing the lead female vocalist.

She was the lead singer of Cleopatra, the 1990s pop group made up of three sisters from Manchester, alongside Zainam and Yonah.

Signed to Madonna’s label Maverick when she was just 13, Cleopatra had three Top 10 hits, supported the Spice Girls, had two TV series and even performed concerts at the Vatican.

The group’s debut album ‘Comin Atcha!’ led to three Top 5 hit singles in the UK – ‘Cleopatra’s Theme,’ ‘Life ain’t Easy’ and the Jackson 5 cover, ‘I Want you Back.’

Madonna’s Maverick label signed Cleopatra for the USA and the girls worked with several luminary producers on their more grown-up second album ‘Stepping Out.’

Cleopatra were promoted on Jay Leno’s ‘Tonight,’ the Queen Latifah show, toured America with Jessica Simpson, Next, Brian McKnight, and performed on the Disney cruise ship which was broadcast worldwide on television.

After more risqué singles ‘You Got It’ and ‘Come and Get Me,’ and the second album unreleased in the UK, the girls disbanded to pursue their solo ventures.

In 2000, Cleo recorded a duet of song ‘Someone Like You’ with Russell Watson for his debut album called ‘The Voice.’

Cleo duetted again with Russell on the song ‘The Best That Love Can Be’ for his third album called ‘Reprise.’

In 2013, Cleo auditioned for BBC One’s ‘The Voice’ and reached the semi-final stage.

At Blackpool’s Grand Theatre there will also be a 5pm show of ‘Thriller Live’ on the Friday and a 4pm performance on Saturday, October 19.
