We have received the following update from the organisers of the Michael: HIS_story exhibition which will take place in August to celebrate Michael’s Birthday.
Michael:HIS_story event in London, to celebrate Michael’s birthday. (UPDATE)
Fans have been working day and night on the latest ‘MJ portraits, art and design’ exhibition planned for London in Michael’s birthday week 2019.
Whatever your favourite MJ ‘era’, we can promise that ‘he’ll be there.’ From the ‘making of’ the J5 cartoons, designs for the ‘Michael Raisin’ commercial, artwork for the planned MJ mural in LA and original portraits of Michael at home, at work, in costume and in film, this exhibition will take you behind the scenes into Michael’s world. We are delighted that Mary van der Heijden and Elke Diehm will be bringing more of their beautiful Michael Jackson costume dolls to exhibit (on 28th and 29th August). This year they have been inspired by a Roberto Cavalli costume sketch (on show at the exhibition), and visitors will have the opportunity to purchase one especially-customised doll wearing a ‘gold lion’ suit as it was designed to be worn – with a flowing cape!
Collectors have not been forgotten, and in addition to an astonishing selection of international art (most available for purchase) the event will include a wide range of vintage collectables. If you are looking for books, CDs vinyl, pins, programmes, press photos, promo items or posters, come and browse through our selection. We are looking forward to sharing all our rarities (and raritiees!) with as many fans as possible.
Best of all, to #HonorMJ, ALL of the proceeds from this 4-day event (entry fee, all sales and donations) will be donated to UNICEF to support their well-known work worldwide.
Whether you have been a fan for 5 days or 50 years, we think you’ll find something at this event to engage, amaze and delight. We look forward to seeing you at this ‘MJ experience like no other’. And like all good MJ events, we are including a surprise…
