Michael Jackson Estate Sues ABC

The Estate of Michael Jackson is suing ABC and their parent company Disney, after the airing last week of their two hour documentary ‘The Last Days Of Michael Jackson.’

The lawsuit, which has been filed in the Los Angeles federal court, says the documentary illegally used sections of Michael’s most valuable songs, which included; ‘Bad,’ ‘Billie Jean’ and video footage from ‘Black or White’ and ‘Thriller.’

The lawsuit also claims that clips were used from the Estate’s documentary, ‘Michael Jackson’s Journey From Motown To Off The Wall’ and the film ‘This Is It.’

The lawsuit says;

“Like Disney, the lifeblood of the estate’s business is its intellectual property, yet for some reason, Disney decided it could just use the estate’s most valuable intellectual property for free.”

There are thirty or more violations of copyright and damages are being sought along with an injunction against any further use of the Estate’s property.
