Moonman Sold At Auction

On Sunday June 14th, a historic MTV Award presented to Michael in 1984 fetched a top bid of $40,000. The total cost was $51,200 after the buyers premium, but, some thought the award was worth far more.

The award wasn’t just a significant piece of Michael memorabilia it also represented a major turning point in music history. The 1984 Moonman is historically significant because it was also presented at MTV’s first-ever annual Video Music Awards Ceremony (VMA).
