Michael Inspired Her To Dream

Every fan knows of Michael’s absolute commitment to helping poor people, especially children, to overcome their poverty, and to make lives for themselves. Here we have the ultimate, true story of a child from the Dominican Republic, who was starved, beaten and neglected, and who fought that lifestyle after receiving a gift from Michael, consisting of a pair of shoes, a pair of socks, a backpack full of school supplies and a small boombox that played Michael’s music. After a life of hardship and of drugs and alcohol, she has struggled to raise herself above these problems.

Lidia Knight was that child, who now is free of any addiction, has a job, and is entering her second year at college. “Michael Jackson inspired me to dream, when I didn’t think I was allowed to do it. I wasn’t taught to dream,” says Lidia. “I’m thankful that I’m at a place in my life now where I can better myself…and I don’t think God has brought me here to just stop.”
