Michael’s upcoming album of previously unreleased music has been slowed down as it seems that his family are disputing that he is actually singing on some of the tracks he reputedly wrote with his friends the Cascio brothers in 2007.
Allegedly Michael’s children are being asked to verify that he was actually in New Jersey when the songs were recorded. A forensic audiologist has also been asked to analyse the tracks to determine if they feature Michael’s voice.
A source said: “With so many rivals wanting control of Michael’s legacy a new album was never going to be easy. Sony want this ironed out quickly. If they get this out for Christmas it will sell boatloads.”
The report claims that Sony has a £125m deal with Michael’s estate.
