Andy Warhol’s portrait of Michael, painted in 1984 for a Time magazine cover was auctioned in New York. The auction was initially scheduled to close at the end of July however, overwhelming demand forced them to keep the bidding open. The Tel Aviv-born gallery owner pledged that all proceeds from the sale will benefit the restoration of Israeli town Shderot.
The buyer has requested anonymity but it was revealed that it sold for over a million dollars.
