Paula Katsikas attended a ‘Glitter Glove’ celebration in Adelaide, Australia, on Sunday, fans coming together for what would have been Michael 52nd birthday. Here is Paula’s report from the event:
“It was the 29th August, 2010 this weekend and I am sure that fans all over the world would have been celebrating Michael’s 52nd Birthday. It was no different here in Adelaide, Australia, where a group of loving Michael fans hosted a ‘Glitter Glove’ party in honor of Michael on this very special day. Michael gave so much to his fans and this is one day when fans could give something back to him.
Fans danced and sang Michael’s music together, paying tribute to the Greatest Entertainer and Humanitarian that ever lived. Everyone wore a Glitter Glove, the theme of the night, and many were dressed in their best Michael attire. There were several live performances by Michael impersonators and one of our finalists in ‘Australian Idol,’ did her rendition of a number of Michael songs in a-cappella. Even youngsters as young as eight years old were on the dance floor imitating their idols every move. That was the pure magic of the man, where age was no barrier. There was also a beautiful cake that was made and cut in his honor.
Though there were people from different walks of life there and different ages, there was one common factor that brought everyone together that night and that started friendships – Everyone’s never ending love for Michael.
Michael, I know that you would have been smiling down on all of us. From all your fans here in Australia, we wish you a Happy 52nd Birthday and all of our love.
