No Luck With ‘Thriller’ Dance

Yesterday, on August 28th, more than 1,257 people met in front of the Riverside County Courthouse in Southern California to try to set a new record for the most people dancing to Michael’s ‘Thriller.’

The crowd gathered in a circle around four flat-bed trucks on which ten dancers spent an hour teaching the participants how to do the `Thriller’’ dance. The lessons were led by B.J. Brasier, a choreographer who worked with Michael.

The event included a Michael costume contest and an appearance by Eddie Garcia and Courtney Miller, who both have danced with Michael.

1,257 people registered, it is believed that many more attempted the dance, but the number was short of the national record of 1,820 dancers.

Some of the dancers just loved to dance, but the majority were there to pay tribute to Michael. Some dressed as Michael while others dressed as zombies.
