The MJ Fanvention taking place in Gary next week has a multitude of treats for Michael fans.

Monica Lynn Manoski has created a wall mural which is six foot high by eight foot wide which depicts Michael. Spray paint and metallic acrylic paint were used for the mammoth work which she will display it at an ‘Intimate Portrait’ event, joining David Nordahl, Michael’s personal friend and artist, at the MJ Fanvention at Merriville’s Radisson Hotel on Sunda,y 29th August.

Manoski will also participate in a question-and-answer session at the fan convention.

The event will be highlighted by the input of Nordahl, an American painter who created some of the most notable portraits of Michael. The artist is especially known for pieces that shows Michael in a mythical light.

During his appearance at MJFanvention, Nordahl will relay conversations he had with Michael and his artwork will also be displayed.

Fans can also attend a tribute on Thursday at West Side. ‘Lyrics: Michael Jackson Yesterday, Today & Forever’ covers three periods of Michael’s life story which will be told in lyric form. This musical stage play will be presented at 7.00 p.m. at the West Side Theatre at West Side Leadership Academy, 900 Gerry St., Gary.

The Gary Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is hosting the presentation, in conjunction with Gary’s West Side Theatre Guild.
