Madison Shoes For Auction

Michael’s concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York in 2001 were performed to a sell-out crowd. They were also broadcast on television later and were watched by forty-four million people.

Bonhams Auctions in Knightsbridge, London, will auction a pair of Sebago loafers from these shows, with each sole signed by Michael and inscribed “Rock my world, Billie Jean”. Also for auction is a Michael fedora which has his name inscribed in gold lettering inside the crown.

Another fedora from the 1980’s will also be sold and a demo cassette tape of Michael singing ‘I Never Heard’ (This Is It). According to information supplied, this recording was given to the vendor by Paul Anka when they met in London in 1983, shortly after it had been recorded in Anka’s studio in California. Anka co-wrote the song with Michael and personally recorded Michael’s vocal performance, which is that used on the recently-released version of the song, now titled ‘This Is It’.

Finally, the puppet of Michael from the irreverent 80’s show ‘Spitting Image’ will also go under the hammer. This is valued at up to £4,000.
