Last Friday two hundred and fifty people watched performers at Boston University pay tribute to Michael. The BosTones and Chordially Yours, the university’s acappella groups, together with several bands from New York and Boston and two DJs played music and sang the songs to honour Michael. Prizes were given and a dance contest was held for the people attending the event.
They made the decision for a Michael Jackson tribute after he passed away. “I don’t know anyone who isn’t a fan of Michael Jackson’s music,” Jennifer Brown, WTBU Music Director, said.
WTBU Central spokesman Justin Monestime said the Michael Jackson show brought the BU community together. “Any time student groups like the BosTones and Chordially Yours come on the BUC stage, it’s a great thing because having BU’s best on our stage gives that community feel…our Michael Jackson tribute show exemplifies the immense impact that the King of Pop had on us all.”
