Fans May Not Be Reimbursed

Following the rescheduling of four of Michael’s concerts, the Guardian Newspaper has reported that any fans who bought tickets from unofficial resale sites may not be able to recover the money they paid.

The people who bought tickets from the official agents Ticketmaster.co.uk or Viagogo.co.uk will be offered tickets for the alternative dates or a full refund including booking fees. However, for those who bought tickets from individual sellers or unofficial resale sites such as eBay.com, or any of the many others offering tickets at inflated prices may be disappointed.

Jonathan Brown, secretary of the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers said; “Major ticket sellers and resale marketplaces that take customer protection seriously guarantee refunds. However, people who have bought tickets from individual or unauthorised resellers might be left out in the cold, with little chance of getting their money back or being offered a ticket for the new dates.”

A spokeswoman for eBay.com said; “We have moved quickly to ensure that tickets for the affected dates are removed from eBay and we will also continue to prevent sellers from listing tickets for these particular dates. However, those who have already bought tickets for the postponed concerts from an individual seller will not be able to get hold of a refund unless they can persuade the seller to give them one.”
