Verdict

Almost immediately after being sent to deliberate on this case, the jurors spoke to the judge by telephone to ask for guidance on various points, including clarification of the amount Schaffel testified was due to him from Michael, as various figures were declared in the evidence. They requested that the court reporter read back some of Schaffel’s testimony.

When the verdict was announced, it was that the jury had awarded Schaffel $900,000 and Michael was awarded $200,000.

No apparent explanation was given for these awards.
