The jury in the Schaffel trial today saw and heard Michael’s evidence given in a four hour videotaped deposition. He denied borrowing massive amounts of money from Schaffel, and stated that if Schaffel got him money it was from Michael’s own account, as he would never ask him for his money.
He also said he had some knowledge of Schaffel’s thefts from him, but not in detail. The prosecution rested at that point.
Michael’s lawyers began by presenting a deposition from a property manager supporting Michael’s statemant that most of his cash came from leasing grazing land at his Neverland Ranch.
The case will resume on Monday 10th July, and the judge expects to hear closing arguments on Tuesday or Wednesday.
