Est. 1998
Tonight saw the launch of the Sony Ericsson Proud Central Gallery exhibition of Michael Jackson photographs, displaying many photos of Michael from 1980 onwards.
The photographs were taken by Lynn Goldsmith and Harrison Funk. Goldsmith took the majority of photos displayed between 1980 and 1984, while Funk shows the broader range of 1984 to 1994.
The ‘invitation only’ launch, which was also attended by members of the press, was on two floors, with every wall containing many large framed photographs of Michael. Also, there was a large wall display of the ‘Visionary’ picture at the entrance and the tour began with ‘The Ultimate Collection’ as background music.

Most of the photos that can be seen are from the Jacksons tour in 1981, the Victory tour in 1984 and the Bad tour in 1987/8. Other photographs of Michael on display are from Disneyland in the mid 1980’s, with friends such as Elizabeth Taylor, Diana Ross and Nelson Mandela and other various photos taken from music videos and other famous encounters.
MJWN were lucky enough to have an invitation to the event and we asked Harrison Funk how he felt about having his photographs on display, Harrison glowingly replied; “It’s wonderful! I’m amazed at the sheer amount of people here!”
The opening night launch finished at 9.00pm and many of the guests headed over to ‘Studio 57’ to attend the exclusive after party.
The exhibition will be on display at the Sony Ericsson Proud Central Gallery from February 17th – April 1st, at the following address:
