Michael Jackson Illustrated

A few months ago, one of our team members, Matt Blank, launched a new site called MJ Illustrated. It’s a digital art project offering a fresh, creative lens on the life and legacy of Michael Jackson.

Through a wide range of visual styles, the artwork pays tribute to Michael with deep admiration, respect, and love. Each piece is a celebration of Michael’s impact, inviting fans to celebrate him in a new, visually expressive way.

The goal is simple: to share a new piece of artwork every day. On the project, Matt said:

“I’ve wanted to create artwork of Michael Jackson for years. The ideas were always there, spinning in my head—but I never had the drawing skills to bring them to life. That changed with AI. It gave me the tools to create what I’d only imagined.

I know it can be controversial. When digital instruments first came along, people said it wasn’t ‘real’ music. But tools evolve—what matters is how we use them. It’s creative work—just with a different kind of brush.”

Matt is clear about one thing: the goal isn’t to mislead. He doesn’t believe in using AI to generate hyper-realistic images, videos, or music of Michael. That kind of deception disrespects his legacy and fans. Instead, MJ Illustrated is about honoring Michael’s legacy, sharing ideas, and sparking imagination through art. Much time and care is dedicated to developing each concept, refining expressions, outfits, and poses, and nearly every piece is edited in Photoshop—often combining elements from multiple results to get it just right.

New pieces are posted daily on the website Michael Jackson Illustrated (mjillustrated.com), and you can also follow along on X (formerly Twitter) at @mjillustrated. Below are a few examples from the project.
