Richmond’s MJ Themed Bonfire Event
Beth Kelleher, who works for the Richmond Rugby Ground in the UK has kindly sent us some information about the Richmond Athletic Association’s Annual sell-out Bonfire Night event, which will be taking on a Michael Jackson theme this year, on Sunday the 2nd of November.
Sponsored by Falcons School, it is the biggest in the borough with 6000 people in attendance every year. A whole host of entertainment is on offer, with an enormous bonfire and spectacular Fireworks by multi-award winning Phoenix Fireworks. This year’s display will be choreographed to the music of Michael Jackson. There will also be a dazzling funfair, pre-show entertainment, mulled wine, hot food and an after party in the Members Bar with a Michael Jackson dance off.
As part of the entertainment the Rock Choir Richmond will be singing many of their favourite arrangements including Michael’s ‘Man In The Mirror.’ The newly opened dance ‘Studio K’ will also be performing their best Michael Jackson moves on the main pitch from 8 pm.
In the spirit of Michael, the event will be supporting the charities Homelink and Momentum. Homelink specialises in helping family relationship both inside the home and with group therapy, and Momentum works with children and their families in Surrey and South West London with cancer.
Tickets are on sale from 1st October and advanced tickets and more information are available from the website, by phone 0208 940 0397, or from the club shop on match days.
The event will take place at the Richmond Athletic Ground at Twickenham Road, Richmond, with gates opening at 4.30 pm.
