Bang Showbiz are reporting that the administrators of Michael’s estate, John Branca and John McClain, are negotiating with several major music companies for their bids to release Michael’s unheard songs. Sony Music and Universal together with one other unnamed company are said to be interested, but at present, Sony, the estate’s preferred choice, are not matching the price expected by the estate’s administrators. Universal and Sony are the main contenders for the songs as they have the best worldwide distribution systems.
At present, Sony will have control of all recordings made before 2004 for the next few years until it becomes property of Michael’s estate. Negotiations will continue.
