For the past several days, “Xscape”, an unreleased track recorded by Michael Jackson during the Invincible sessions, has been circulating throughout the Internet. Mr. Jackson has recently been made aware of this activity and he is very upset and angered by the unauthorized leak of this song to the public. Mr. Jackson’s production company, MJJ Productions, along with his lawyers have also been made aware of the situation and are taking any and all measures necessary in order to ensure that the illegal distribution of “Xscape” is ceased.

As an artist, Michael Jackson has consistently given his fans and the public the best that he has to offer musically, however when his hard work is sabotaged by unauthorized pirating, he and the people who stand by him feel cheated and betrayed. While some fans might think that the leaking of “Xscape” is not a big deal, it should be understood that it is Mr. Jackson’s livelihood that is being exploited. Moreover, unauthorized distribution not only breaches copyright infringement laws, but delays the creative process of eventually getting this material out to the general public.

MJ Unity would like to urge the fans that have this song, know of this song’s existence on the Internet or know someone that is further distributing this song onto others to please HELP in ensuring that action comes to a halt immediately. Please take the song off your computer’s sharing folders, take down all the links to the song down-loads on your web-sites, message boards, chat rooms and please report those who fail to do so.

Be aware that MJJ Productions and Michael’s lawyers are thoroughly combing the Internet for violators. We ask the fans to please respect Mr. Jackson’s wishes. There is a time to enjoy Michael Jackson’s music, and that is at his discretion. We trust that the fans will understand and cooperate in the name of the love and appreciation that they carry for Mr. Jackson’s work.

Mr. Jackson personally thanks all the fans for their continued support and he hopes that they will join him in the fight against piracy.

This statement is fully endorsed and approved by MJJ Productions and Mr. Jackson himself.
