No Britney Duet

Britney Spears today pulled out of performing at Michael’s concerts. The 19-year-old singer was forced to cancel the duet of ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ they had planned to sing together at the New York concert on Friday, because of her deal with an American broadcaster.

The line-up for the concert, which marks Michael’s 30th anniversary as a solo performer, includes a reunion of the Jackson 5, and other artists including Whitney Houston, Destiny’s Child, Gloria Gaynor and Liza Minelli.

But because it is to be broadcast on American television next month, Britney had to cancel her appearance as a contract with a rival broadcaster forbids her from having performances broadcast within a month of her live television special in November.

Her spokeswoman told the New York Post; “Britney did have to pull out – and she’s very upset about it.”
