Alien’s ‘Smooth Criminal’ hits #1

Alien Ant Farm’s cover version of Michael’s hit ‘Smooth Criminal’ is number one on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks Chart in the US this week. Michael first released this fantastic song on his ‘Bad’ album and included the groundbreaking short film in his full-length movie ‘Moonwalker’. The video for this song was premiered by MTV in October 1988. ‘Smooth Criminal’ received the award for Best Music Video at the 8th British Record Industry Awards on Feb 13th 1989. This song is a firm favourite amongst fans the world over when Michael performs it live at concerts. Especially when he re-enacts the famous dance routine from the short film, including the legendary lean, which appears to defy gravity! Definitely a smooth move!
