Michael made a surprise appearance at the Summer Jam 2001 which took place in Long Island (USA) on June 28th.

Festival headliner Jay-Z brought Michael onstage during a break in his performance – to the big surprise of the sold-out crowd. Although he didn’t perform just his presence was enough to elicit the loudest pop of the night from a crowd that had already seen performances by Destiny’s Child, R. Kelly, Ludacris, Eve, Nelly, and Outkast.

Michael and Jay-Z posed for photos together – in one of the pictures, he struck a b-boy stance with his arms folded. Finally he sent a “I love you all” to the crowd before leaving the stage.
