Hospice Want To ‘Thrill The World’

Thrill The World’ is fast approaching and volunteers from Teesside Hospice in Middlesborough will help try to break the record. The event will  take place at midnight on Saturday, October 23rd at Teesside Hospice in Middlesborough (UK).

The aim of this annual global ‘Thrill The World’ is to get as many people as possible to dance to Michael’s ‘Thriller.’

The event began in 2007 and since that time, ghosts and ghouls have gathered annually all around the world to try to shatter the previous record. In 2007 1,722 people in 80 cities from 17 different countries participated, setting a new record. This was beaten at the 2008 event and again in 2009, when 22,596 people in 264 cities from 33 countries took part.

The Teesside Hospice in Middlesborough are asking volunteers to learn the dance on YouTube or alternatively, a professional teacher from the Smith Jaques Dance Studio will be providing classes for entrants in the run-up to the event. A registration fee of £5.00 will be required and each ‘zombie’ and they will be asked to raise sponsorship in aid of Teesside Hospice.

The registration fee also entitles participants to a 50% off clothing voucher redeemable in any of Teesside Hospice’s charity shops to help people get kitted-out for the event.
