R&B star Ciara, almost missed out on working with Michael when she didn’t have her phone on her.

Ciara was approached about singing on the charity record Michael planned for the victims of Hurricane Katrina and could hardly believe it when Michael called her directly. His assistant called and left a message that Michael would call her, and she was so shocked that she had actually missed that call. She made certain she had her cellphone with her next time he called, and was thrilled to speak to him personally.

In an interview with OK magazine she said; “I didn’t get to meet Michael Jackson but I did get to talk to him on the phone. It was cool and really surreal because I love Michael.

I did actually (know he was going to call). I knew he was going to reach out to me and it’s funny because I missed his first phone call.

His assistant left a message and I was like, ‘Oh my God. I missed his call!’ The second time he called me I made sure I had my phone on me and turned up.”
