Michael, James And The Symphony
Sunday, June 20th 2010
Today, at 8.00 p.m. ‘The Music Of Michael Jackson’ was performed at the Alabama Theatre, by The Alabama Symphony Orchestra and James Delisco singing Michael’s songs.
James has been singing Michael’s songs since he was in fourth grade, and when he was twelve years old, he went with his classmates as Michael’s guests to the ‘Victory’ tour.
“He had invited us to come see the show free as a surprise,” James said. “It’s not an impersonation, it’s a tribute celebrating the music of Michael Jackson. I’m going to be singing the music to honor the forty years of music he’s given to the world. I’m also a dancer, so I can do the Michael Jackson stuff, but it’s not an impersonation. We’ll be doing everything from ‘ABC’ to ‘We Are the World’. He had the gift of music, the gift of dance, the gift of entertaining,” Delisco says. “It’s going to be a long time before we see something like that again.”
James also added that it was rare to have a catalogue of music as rich as Michael’s.
