Family Want Extra Charges
Monday, February 22nd 2010
Joseph Jackson is behind a move to have the involuntary manslaughter charge against Conrad Murray, raised to the more serious charge of homicide which carries a longer jail sentence.
Lawyers representing the Jackson family will file an application in the next few weeks with Steve Cooley, the LA District Attorney, requesting stronger charges.
Under the terms of his bail, Murray is allowed to continue practising medicine in Nevada, Texas and California, but not to administer certain drugs. The authorities in California are preparing to seek the removal of his license there.
His next hearing is due on April 5th.
