In court today, Judge Rodney Melville has granted a demurrer filed by Michael’s attorney, that he should not be named as a defendant in the lawsuit brought by the Ruiz family. The family alleged that the Marian Medical Centre and Michael were guilty of intentional infliction and emotional distress when their mother was moved from a hospital room so that Michael could be examined there.

Mrs. Ruiz died later the same day.

A demurrer is a legal objection to an opponent’s point.

The allegations against the hospital remain in place.
